This program assists private property owners in the Ross Valley/Flood Zone 9 in Marin County with stream-related problems. It is designed to offer property owners advice on low-cost, environmentally sound streamside management practices and alternatives to concrete and riprap (see a glossary for term explanation).

It educates landowners about native plants and wildlife habitat, and the role of creekside management practices in the larger context of flood control. The Flood Control District has contracted with the Urban Creeks Council to provide up to 50 free consultations for private property owners in the Ross Valley. This program is made possible by Flood Zone 9 Flood and Watershed Program. Applications for consultations will be prioritized based on severity of the problem.
