Financial Working Group

The financial working group, composed of County representatives and City managers, is analyzing funding mechanisms. They are examining every possible funding source. No stone will be left unturned; absolutely every ounce of state and federal funding and partnerships will be tapped. That includes: State Office of Emergency Services (administrator of FEMA funds), State Proposition 50 funds, California Coastal Conservancy, California Conservation Corps, and the US Army Corps of Engineers (already committed to completing a Watershed Study project to determine additional potential federal funding).

State and federal funding requires a local matching revenue source. The County and Cities have committed to contributing the maximum possible. But that still may not be enough. It is likely that property owners in the Ross Valley watershed will be asked to vote on a possible annual assessment—with community input on an acceptable amount.
