A Letter from Hal Brown
Dear Fellow Resident,
![]() "Your input will be instrumental in ensuring that our entire Ross Valley is safe, prepared and beautiful." |
As residents of Ross Valley, we live in a watershed—land with creeks that flow to the ocean. On New Year’s Day, we all experienced what happens when those creeks overflow their banks.
The County of Marin and your community are working on flood protection projects that will be in place before the next rainy season. With a broad range of partners, we’re also developing innovative, watershed-wide solutions for long-term flood protection and creek restoration.
The 28-square-mile Ross Valley Watershed starts at White’s Hill in the north, encompassing the communities of Fairfax and Sleepy Hollow; through San Anselmo, Ross and Kentfield; and down to Larkspur, Corte Madera and Greenbrae where Corte Madera Creek flows to the Bay.
I invite all community members to participate in our first community workshop on May 20thto learn about flood protection solutions and offer your feedback.
Your input will be instrumental in ensuring that our entire Ross Valley is safe, prepared and beautiful. I hope you will attend the community workshop to contribute your ideas and thoughts. The meeting will be recorded and shown on County Channel G; check your local cable channels for other broadcasts. You can also view it and offer your comments on this website, if you can't attend.

Sincerely,
Hal Brown |
